I didn't have to use this very long to get all of my face and eye brushes clean. It can take a few times to get a proper suction on your sink, but it stays. You have to pull the tab out completely then press it down onto your sink. Apply the soap directly to it and scrub away. If you let your brushes get super dirty or use a lot of long wearing foundation it might take more effort to clean those brushes. I expect that with long wearing products.
