This tripod is as good as most of the reviews say, but the one thing that I find puzzling is the lack of a hook on the bottom of the center pole for hanging additional weight. The fact that this tripod is so light simply begs for more ballast in windy conditions, but adding weight needs a Jerry-rigged workaround. So simple to add a hook!

One of the sections of one of the legs came undone on first use. Didnt expect this to happen on a setup that costs close to a grand. Sent it back to B&H, waiting for a replacement.

Great tripod that is extremely well built, compact and travels well. Used with a Nikon D850 and medium range telephoto to shoot fireworks event in Tokyo. Tripod was rock solid and I got great photos without shake. Expensive, but definitely worth it. Also, once locked, the center ball head stays in place without slippage.

I was so sceptical at first buying a Gitzo tripod simply because of the cost. Let me be the first to tell you that you pay for what you get. This tripod is absolutely worth every single penny and will probably outlast me. I know everyone is on a budget, but you have to find a way to get enough money to get one of these. Truly an unbelievable product.

Fantastic heavy duty (but light weight) at 3.2 lbs. Folds compactly easily into a suitcase. Held a heavy camera with a very heavy 500 mm zoom lens with no concerns. Very well made. If you are doing any significant travel photography, this is well worth the cost. It takes a little longer to set up (twist compression to keep legs extended rather than flip compressors) but for the weight and portability advantage this is a minor inconvenience
