Can't rate it fully yet as have just received it, I have had no band and mi band 2. The display on this one is a lot clearer (see image). Battery does seem to go down quicker but that could be due to pairing and not having the settings the same as mi band 2 lasted weeks so hoping this is similar. I haven't tested waterproofing yet but my mi band 2 has been worn for 2 years, through swimming and bathing and has been fine so sure this one is as good if not better. Only issue I can forsee at the moment is the domed screen means it will get caught a lot easier than previous design. PS I've changed the strap, work in a school so like to keep the original strap for our of work as will get covered in paint and glue etc. There is more options on this one and I like the introduction of weather and date on it. Mi band 3 counts more steps than mi band 2 and so far seem to be more accurate, more inline with what I get from my Fitbit (rarely use due to not being waterproof and shirt battery life).

I received this band on time, but had trouble getting started as the instructions i received with it weren't in English. I also had trouble charging it as it was clear on the positive and negative. However once that was sorted and I received English instructions, I LI!E THIS BAND! It's not overly accurate on the step count but it helps with my sleep pattern which is currently not good. I like the heart rate part as I can keep an eye on this myself and although it doesn't read BP i have a rough idea as to mine. It's also waterproof which means I can go to the local pool and record my steps even when I'm in the water teaching. (I also use LIfelog on my phone which isn't waterproof). I'm not sure if I'm developing an allergy to the strap but do find that my arm under it itches sometimes but that's not bothering me too much at the moment. Never had a band befors, but when this one breaks - I'll be getting another.

At first its great. But a after months of wearing a few things are niggling me: The display is almost impossible to see in Sunlight unless its cloudy, The steps are inaccurate on a treadmill, I used a calibrated treadmill and ran 7 miles and it shows that I ran five mile. I also compared to a well know route/gps and once again was off by a mile. Pause and resets training now and again even if I didn't touch it with gym stuff, etc. New update app is terrible...should have kept the simple design. Notifications are hit and miss. OK for the price, but you get what you pay for I guess.

Good value for money i believe, however, i was disappointed that the app that goes with it is quite poor and has all sort of issues. Also, been using it for two weeks and it just does not record sleep correctly, i mean they are way off, i can only trust the deep sleep score because i don't know any better but the start sleep time and wake up time are 100% Wrong. It picks up from when I'm reading in bed, which can be hours before i actually go to sleep, until the time you literally get out of bed, so all those hours you may be awake but still laying in bed are counted as sleep....not happy!. Anything else i cannot fault, so have mixed feelings as the sleep tracking was high on my wish list....

The Mi Band 3 is a superb device. Unless you’re a hardcore fitness enthusiast, I honestly don’t understand why people pay much, much more given all the functionality this band has. I use it with an iPhone XR and it’s excellent, giving notifications for many apps. Especially now the generic “Apps” notification setting as been added to the Mi Fit app. I’ve had the Mi Band 1S and 2, so have experienced the progression made each generation whilst maintaining a low price point. One feature I love is the silent vibrating alarm. Wakes me up far more gently than a sonic alarm. Oh and if you don’t require continual heart monitoring, the battery on this should last you 20-30 days. I highly recommend the Mi Band 3.
