Sadly this product is a bit Jekyll and Hyde...when it works it is great but twice in six months the volume just goes very quiet. If you plug your headphone directly into the PC Jack on the same volume number it is markedly louder, this is a an amp and should be able to be better than onboard sound but something is playing around the the unit to alter the internal volume, its like the EPOS software is dampening the sound??? I am trying to resolve with EPOS but their last effort didn't solve it...oddly it came good on its own.

Not quite that simple. Download sennheiser software, update and then the best so m surround sound I’ve experienced through headphones. Easily pushes my HD660s.

Bought this in December 2020 and can honestly say it doesn't perform better than £50 products or standalone headphones/headsets from other leading brands. The surround sound is awful, the sound is really strange and puts you at a huge disadvantage in any competitive game. The other features really don't do anything for you and are more gimmicks than actual options. To top it off mine likes to keep switching between modes and ruining any and all listening experiences by going from "gaming mode" which is attrocious, tinny and hollow (bascially just removes all bass) over to music mode which just sounds like "normal" mode would and then cycling through these for no reason. Don't waste your money, even at 50%. Steer well clear of EPOS!

Nice piece of kit with some issues. If you ever power off your pc, the next time you start up you will need to unplug and plug back in the USB calve for the DAC or it will not work. Also you have to reduce the sound quality for 7.1 to work otherwise it will be stereo only. If you have the GSP headphones this will make it better for gaming.
