I have had it for over a year now and live this compass. It is accurate and easy to use. I have used this hiking and on land navigation courses. I gave it 4 due to manufactor quality control. With declination set to 0, the bezel north and dial north are off by 2 degrees. Though the dial that you would sight with is accurate, just not as easy to read as the bezel. Especially during low light conditions

It's not a bad compass. I like the sighting wheel but the strap is a little cheapy. But why is North 180? It should be 0 and it makes me have to do an unnecessary conversion, I'm confused why it's backwards.

Well made, sturdy, practical compass. The only fault is the really weak luminous paint. I'd love to 5 star this compass, but can't. With all the modern lume paint that lasts 6-8 hours after exposure to bright light, there is no excuse for the weak lume on a navigation instrument that would be used at night.

A gimmick The order of the face is backwards so you can sight it But when you look down on the face, north is down and south is up Totally confusing and I have been using compasses for 45 years Designed to sight bearing, but you cannot transfer it to a map and because of the reversed face cannot use it intuitively as a marching compass Buy the Suunto MCB Amphibian Compass a classic mirror compass for bearings and marching (for less money) or Suunto M-3D Leader Compass a classic base plate compass with angle adjustment (for a couple of dollars more) Again this compass is very difficult to use when there are such good options

I used the first version with the "doghouse" arrow for years. Loved it. Lost it overseas. Replaced it with this double triangle version. Hate it. Like others have mentioned, the plastic seems a little lesser quality, but I really don't like the interface of this version. It may be due to being used to the other version, but I just don't feel as comfortable with this one.
