L'Asus ROG Xbox Ally 512GB est une console portable Windows puissante avec processeur AMD Ryzen Z2 A, 16 Go de RAM et un écran 7 pouces 1080p à 120 Hz, annoncé à 500 nits avec FreeSync. Cet ensemble offre une image fluide et de bonnes performances dans de nombreux jeux récents, surtout si l'on ajuste correctement les profils de puissance et les réglages graphiques. Le SSD de 512 Go constitue une base correcte et peut être facilement étendu via un SSD M.2 ou une carte microSD, un point souvent mis en avant dans les tests. L'intégration poussée avec l'écosystème Xbox, avec un bouton dédié et un accès rapide au Game Pass, plaira particulièrement aux joueurs déjà équipés. En contrepartie, plusieurs limites reviennent souvent. L'autonomie, bien qu'améliorée par rapport aux anciens modèles Ally, reste de quelques heures seulement lorsque l'on joue avec un TDP élevé. Windows 11 sur un petit écran tactile se montre parfois maladroit, avec de fréquents allers-retours entre le bureau et le lanceur de jeux. La version de base avec puce Z2 A et 16 Go de RAM est aussi moins pérenne que l'Ally X plus chère, dotée de plus de mémoire et d'une batterie plus grande. De nombreux avis signalent enfin un ventilateur clairement audible en charge. Cette machine conviendra surtout aux acheteurs qui veulent toute la flexibilité de Windows et de l'univers Xbox, en acceptant une autonomie modeste et une ergonomie logicielle perfectible.

Good high-performance console, it manages to run most games like crimson desert (in turbo mode though) or less demanding ones, Library Tidy I had to do quite a bit of cleanup to remove xbox bloatware at startup so as to leave windows 11 at startup and thus lighten the system (even if windows 11 is not the most optimal for this console). A lot of updates on the first startup of the machine: you have to be patient and let the updates install quietly. Just a shame that the power charger and cable are not supplied with it (thanks Europe and its restrictions) You still need to have a charger on hand because the battery drains very quickly during gaming sessions. The console is a bit heavy and weighs a little on the hands after 30 min of play. The provided stand is not too much

I tried my very best to love this handheld but I simply could not. The only good things I can say about it is the comfortability and the high refresh rate screen. If you plan to use it for game streaming and have the right network setup this device could be great for that. But running games on it directly though, expect to get about 20-30 fps in modern games at low to medium settings and the resolution turned down. If you are okay with this you might be happy. It is severely underpowered compared to the (much) higher priced version. I ended up returning it as it is simply too expensive for the amount of performance you get.

As I am regularly on the move, it is good to have a portable console so I can play. I can play recent games.

Excellent windows handheld device. Can play most XBOX and steam games out the box. Initial setup and windows update can take a while, but worth the effort. Highly reccomended
