Benchmade 940 is an EDC top 10. I traded my friend My 940, so that he would have one. It is his everyday carry. I was just gonna use my carbon fiber 940–01. But I just missed my aluminum too much. This Tonto knife feels great in the hand. The Axis Lock gives it that fidgety smooth buttery action. One of the best things about a Benchmade is the lifetime sharpening. I have taken my 940 when I go visit my in-laws in Vancouver and stop by Oregon city to get them sharpened. Then about a week later, they mail them back to me razor sharp. So when you use your 20% off and get a Benchmade bugout for a gift. You know that whoever you give it to will be taken care of and have a great gift for life.

Historically, I've not had great luck with Benchmade folding knives. I've owned several that have fallen apart on me out in the field (screws back out, axis lock spring getting jammed up, etc.) Benchmade's warranty took care of the problems once I got back home, but that didn't help me in the middle of a 5-day backpacking trip. Thus, for the most part, I've switched to fixed blade MKC knives. However, fixies are not always convenient. Enter, the Osbourne. This knife is solid, functional, tough, sharp, and high-quality. It is miles above the old AFO, Bugout, and Bailout knives I've had in the past. It's still a pretty thin profile, and I prefer the aluminum handle versus plastic on some models. So, it's a few grams heavier... but not truly enough to be an issue. Highly recommend this model if you're looking at Benchmade folders. Alternatives that I still really like and use include the Kershaw Bel Air and Covalent, but I now prefer the Osborne.

Bought this one as gift for a buddy, I’ve carried the same one for years and love, great quality and edge retention. My buddy and I are both left handed, I have struggled over the years finding a knife that the pocket clip can be switch to the opposite side and is ambidextrous so it’s been the perfect pocket knife

I've been so happy with this knife. Disappears in the pocket. Opens so smoothly. The blade shape is unique and very useful. Wish I hadn't waited so long to get a Benchmade.

I have been a fan of Benchmade for more than two decades. I own several. Not because I’m some sort of weird knife junky, but a tool guy. Different knives for different situations. This is my second 940 Osborne, only because I lost my other in a flood tide on Pine island Sound while trying to cut a small shark off a streamer. It’s a good story. Anyway, I’m a carpenter, and the 940 is my everyday, all around work knife. Benchmade’s quality, design, and ‘oh my God’ awesome warranty makes them second to no one. Go for it. You won’t be disappointed!
