Spyderco Couteau pliant Manix 2 Lightweight Translucent Blue

Blade was not razor sharp from manufacturer. I honed it up to my standards. Have trepidation regarding the plastic, spring lock mechanism that retains the blade from folding back when extended. It's probably a non-issue, but i wish it was a hard metal instead. Plastic can degrade over time with wear and is susceptible to fast corrosion from high concentrations of DEET (main ingredient in mosquito repellent). Spring steel can also degrade over time, but I figure there's a good 15-20+ years worth quality in this product, if maintained and lubricated properly. I'll be long dead by the time this product nears end of life. Also wish it came with an external sleeve/belt holder option, but that is just being greedy. The pocket clip it comes with works well enough.

Great knife, very comfortable in hand. The lock IS stiff but once you are used to it it's no issue at all.

Wow, now that's a knife, usual Spyderco quality with an extremely sharp blade, perhaps a little too big for edc purposes but most definitely a good choice for self defense or camping use.

Absolutely amazing knife. Excellent build quality, attention to detail, ergonomics and quality of materials. This knife fits very well in my (medium) hands, despite its large and heavy design. The knife is crafted with a very large slab of high quality steel. I've been using this knife to cut paper, industrial cardboard, plastic packaging etc. for four months, and have only sharpened it once, to maintain a razor edge (it really wasn't necessary). This knife excels with heavy duty tasks and I have never felt the need to use caution to avoid damaging it. Lastly this knife has developed ZERO blade play, scratches, wear marks, dents, rust or ANY other signs of wear and tear, despite being used rough as an EDC for the past four months. BOTTOM LINE: You simply cannot get a better quality knife for this price.
