Thebalm Nude Beach Eyeshadow Palette

Great coppery colors with plums among the usual browns and beige nudes. Brainiac is a great coppery color and the Brave and Brazen (plum and dark chocolate) are great liner colors. The brush on the cover looks like a fluff and liner, but it's a small stiff two ended brush that's barely useful. In a pinch... you could use it. The cover has a sleeve and TheBalm makes nice cardboard palettes in general. The colors are the kind you can go on a long weekend and only bring one palette and go day to night with neutrals but the staying power is NOT good. Mine were on then off in about two-three hours. Considering the price (I got mine on sale at Ipsy but it's $36 list) it should have more staying power. Good colors, good range of mattes to shimmers, nice coppery tones among the beige nudes but doesn't last on the eye. A "three piece."

I loved the hues in this warm palette and it had a nice balance of mattes and shimmer shades, including crease colors. Most of the shadows were pigmented, except for the light colors, the matte vanilla and a light gold/peach shimmer. They blended well and there are some gorgeous colors here. The huge problem was the staying power. I used brave which is a deep plum shade along with a couple others on my first application and after a few hours wear they had faded from my normal/dry lids. I went on to try more with base/primer combinations and the longevity was poor. I have some of The Balm blushes which last forever. For $36 bucks this is unreal.
