Purchased this highly rated digital UV filter to protect a beautiful, old 35mm film lens which is now attached to a digital SLR camera body. Hoya filters don't disappoint. Regarding digital versus film filters, all I can say is that I am very pleased with the results with this filter. All bases covered; no regrets. :)

I'm an avid user of Hoya filters and this model does not dissapoint. This particular model is a bit pricier that some of their others but in direct comparison provides less visual light reflection off its surface. This translates to a more light pass through and less stray light between the filter and lense.

My other polarizer filters are much too dark, this one reduces glare, it doesn't make the sky as blue as my others, but leaves the color more natural and doesn't make the people and objects in my videos so dark you can't see the detail. I bought 2 extras. I just wish it also came in a 46mm size for all my camcorders... yes it is a little hard to get off, but I do most of my shooting outdoors and rarely take it off so that's not an issue.
