Expensive, but unique. It is about the only small router available that can be used with a horizontal and vertical base. It is the only router available with a 1.5 degree offset horizontal base that makes it ideal to trim edge banding. That was THE ONLY reason I bought it. The product description from the Festool website is ambiguous and misleading. It, like this Amazon product description, does not specify what accessories are actually included with this kit. The Festool site and photos all show this kit with the edge guide, but it isn't included. I'm pissed off that it wasn't there and that the product description is ambiguous. At this price, the "kit" should have included all of the accessories, especially the ones shown in the Festool photos for this kit.

I love how well the MFK 700 works. My complaint would be the same as every other - you have to be careful what router bits you use due to the very short distance when in horizontal mode.

This thing is stupid expensive, but it can do a lot that you don't think of when you are buying a trim router. As a trim router its average. It's the other things it can do when you play with the different attachments. I use it with the Freud 16-103 bit in several configurations. The size of the Freud bit seems to allow vertical planning or flush trimming that you can't do with the Festool bit. It also makes a nice edge banding trimmer. Oddly enough I don't use it as a trim router.

This router/trimmer is simply amazing. I use it both in the horizontal mode to trim both plastic laminate (Formica) and wood edge banding and with the vertical base to run round-over and small profile bits. One of the cool things in the horizontal mode is not only is the base tipped at 1.5 degrees to put a small bevel on the trimmed edge but is shaped to allow the user to trim around corners without lifting the router off the work. The dust collection is amazing, as expected with any Festool. The vertical base is large enough to provide a high level of stability and with .1 millimeter adjustment, you can get exactly the edge profile you want with no fear of having the router tip, messing-up the edge. Over all a great addition to any set of routers. It does not and is not meant to be a primary router but for edge band trimming and small profile edging, this router has no equal. I've tried other brands of edge band trimmer and none has come close.
