I didn’t want to spend too much as this is my first fretless bass. This instrument is ideal for that because it’s a budget bass but the quality is very good. The only drawback is the tone. Because the fingerboard is laurel and isn’t finished with a hardening lacquer of any kind, you don’t get that badly growl that is common with an ebony fingerboard (or similar hardwood). However, that doesn’t take away the enjoyment of playing it and you can still get a reasonable fretless sound

It is what it is - an inexpensive guitar that's really good, but not perfect. I am super pleased with only modest gripes. It's a touch too buzzy high up the neck, and the lightweight body makes the headstock inclined to nose-drive, but otherwise, it's fantastic
