Yamaha CG122MC Classical

I was not able to get to a shop to try this guitar which I would normally do, so I had to rely on previous experience of Yamaha guitars and online reviews. I was a bit disappointed when I first took it out of its box because it has a rather lightweight feel to it and together with the matte finish first impressions are that it is not a serious instrument but more for a student/beginner. However after a couple of hours I grew to be rather impressed and pleased with my purchase. It plays beautifully, the action is very easy, there are no buzzing frets, the tone and note quality is generally very even along every string at pretty much every fret whereas it in not uncommon on other guitars at this price point to find uneven resonance at some positions. I would say it does not produce the highest quality sound needed for a professional recital but it is perfectly satisfactory for informal recitals and daily practice,

Arrived next day in good condition. The sound it produces is really nice and it feels comfortable in my hands. A nicely produced instrument for the price and it feels 'alive' when I play it.

A return to classical guitar & nylon strings after many years using electric/acoustic - I wasn’t disappointed - lovely tone - easy to play - will be a regular companion!

Beautiful finish on a beautiful guitar, plays wonderfully and sounds fantastic. Good height action with adjustable truss rod. Highly recommended

I paid a fraction of the cost of a "good guitar" for what a professional guitarist (and my new guitar teacher) says is "respectable sound from such a budget guitar...". An excellent starter model and easy on my sore fingers :D
