Canon I-SENSYS MF3010 - Imprimante laser

This printer cannot handle printing documents with many pages, if you try to print 50 pages it will print the first 4 and then give a disk size error and cancel the whole job. Also the description mentions being able to handle 11x17 but the printer is to small to handle that size. If the description was clearer about the restrictions it would be rated much higher but currently I feel cheated

My old broken machine was identical but when I tried to connect it would not. I contacted technical support and after checking my computer I was advised to buy "Firewall" and basically they would not tell me how to connect it unless I bought "Firewall". I am 74 and could not be bothered. I phoned a tech friend and he sorted the connection in minutes. Basically machine excellent, support terrible.

The fact that it only works with older versions of Windows should be in Bold Print on the main page.

The good news: Laser printers just work compared to inkjets. I've been through 6 brands of Inkjet printers in 3 years. They last about 6 months of light use. Forget the color and buy an B&W laser printer that uses old fashioned toner. If you need to print in color, take it to an office supply store. The bad news: The software for this machine is garbage. You can't see how much toner is left. On the Mac it appears to be a generic driver they use for all of their printers. The preview on scan is unreadable where inkjets have always had clear, legible previews. There is no tech support and the self-help has little to say as these companies make far too many models to manage them properly. Unfortunately there's no competition, Canon, Epson, HP and Brother are equally bad. I've tried them all. Apple needs to make its own printers that properly support iPads and Macs.

If you are looking for a fast and dependable monochrome laser printer, this Canon printer is a great choice. It produces high quality prints with sharp text and clear graphics. The USB connectivity is convenient, and it is surprisingly quiet. A reliable workhorse for any office.
