Excellent black-and-white laserjet printer. Easy to set up, fast printing rate, good print quality, and Amazon broke records with an unusually speedy delivery. This printer has everything I've always liked about HP Laserjet printers - it's uncomplicated and gets right to work with no drama or suspense.

Do NOT bother with those cheap LASER printers from HP and others. Spend the money; buy one of these. The high cost of the cartridge is offset by its capacity; +-8000 pages. In addition, the printer holds a full ream of paper in one tray. Plus you can buy MULTIPLE an add-ion trays which stack under the printer. No fiddling with partial reams. The print quality is excellent. I can ACTUALLY see the image of an Amazon web page printed. Already at 1,219 pages printed and still perfect! There is a status report that prints form the printer's control panel which pints the number of pages printed; VERY HANDY. It is not the wireless version, but not a problem! Only 3 stars for support only because have not used it, so cannot rate it good or bad.

Typical HP brown factory box, not shiny retail white box like some outlets, but that is fine for business printers and unit is new. The M501DN is a lot better than the 4001 series, which seem a little weak in the tray department. The 550 sheet tray is a nice to have also.

This printer does not connect to your computer. The so-called wireless feature is fine when it works, but it's not consistent. Most of the time I give up and use my inkjet printer. Sometimes there is a delay of up to an hour before it prints. The "HP Smart" application is anything but smart. You can't even find pending activity. Sometimes when it finally prints, there are multiple copies from repeated trials, and you can't turn it off. In summary, there's nothing wrong with this printer that a hammer can't fix.

Bought this in April 2023 It started making a noise every time I print.Asked for help last month and no one responded. Repair guy said HP may have a one year warranty you help? Jay
