Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 est salué pour son gameplay fluide et réaliste, surtout en attaque. L'IA améliorée rend le jeu plus stimulant et la Master League offre beaucoup de profondeur. Plus de licences officielles ont été ajoutées. Cependant, le système défensif reste daté, la présentation et les commentaires sont faibles et il y a peu de nouveaux modes de jeu. La bande-son est souvent jugée faible. Pour les amateurs de jeux de football réalistes, c'est un bon choix, mais il ne faut pas attendre beaucoup de nouveautés.
