Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido propose une expérience de puzzle étonnamment profonde et rapide avec un mode solo conséquent et beaucoup de variété grâce aux nombreux sprites et compétences sushi. La présentation humoristique et unique rend le jeu attrayant, mais les commandes peuvent être frustrantes, surtout à grande vitesse ou en mode docké. Le multijoueur est moins développé et l'interface peut être confuse par moments. Sushi Striker offers surprising depth for a puzzle game that almost anyone could enjoy, as well as a substantial single player story with some great twists and turns. Despite some niggles with the game’s various control schemes, the core gameplay is fun, frenetic and fast-paced. Make no mistakes, Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido is one of the most well put together puzzle games on the Switch.

En proposant au joueur de collecter des assiettes de sushis à envoyer dans la trogne de belliqueux adversaires, Sushi Striker s'exécute à marier les saveurs. Au niveau de ses ingrédients, on retrouve une bonne portion d’action et quelques grammes de réflexion dans un cocktail à la portée de tous. C’est surtout son ambiance totalement décalée qui laisse un arôme acidulé particulièrement agréable. Il est en tout cas un bon compagnon lors de courtes sessions, sans pour autant devenir un nouveau standard du genre. Le léger flottement au niveau de la maniabilité et les règles qui privilégient un peu trop la précipitation peuvent rester au travers de la gorge.

Despite its short runtime, there's a lot of charm packed into its campaign, and plenty to do once the credits have rolled. The easy-to-learn, hard-to-master control scheme ensures it's accessible to everyone, whilst the replayability and multiplayer (including a function that allows two players to use the same console in tabletop mode) solidify its place as a consistent pick-up-and-play staple for the Nintendo Switch library.
