I cannot say it's light weight. It is bulky for its properties, which is why I ordered it. Really good and clear in details.of image. I could spot birds at least 500 meters away easy. I need to have a proper stand forlonger distances. Worthed for money. I'm not an expert, this is only my 3rd trial pieces. I didn't know that the focal length is not variable but only the clarity of image can.

The 20x magnification is a little difficult to get used to at first, but you soon get the hang of it. The lenses are very clear and good quality. I love Celestron equipment, as you get the excellent quality for reasonable prices!
