This was such a fun build and the time just flew by as I was building. There are so many tiny little touches included in the build and hidden features that it makes it really interesting to construct. My particular favorite is the hidden crab under the dock and the disappearing bat. Nicely sized structure when completed and it looks great on the display shelf. If you are building for play this has a load of functionality and is actually quite impressive. I have no idea what the interaction with the app is liek as I haven't downloaded it, I'm happy enough with the set as it is without going down the augmented reality route. Comes with perhaps my favourite mini figure - the Lego Skeleton, I just love those guys. You also have the option to make a couple of the characters possessed and, as I am doing the build, they definitely got the spooky treatment. This was delivered without any packaging. It simply had an address label stuck directly on the Lego box. The box is quite beaten up and doesn’t look great as a birthday present.

Experienced builder (7) struggled a bit with the set, but this was probably the excitement. Surprise was ruined somewhat by Lego box with no amazon packaging arriving. Just an address label on a Lego box. Didn’t take a genius to work out what the package was

My son received this for his 10th birthday. He constructed it without help and this kept his interest for a few hours over a couple of days. Once constructed he really enjoyed playing the Hidden Side game via the app. We also have the lab but I think this set is even more fun. The augmented reality aspect is pretty clever, as it incorporates the room in the background of the set and adds in spooky elements so it's quite immersive. A great addition to the world of Lego, the Hidden Side sets keep older Lego builders engaged and determined to finish the builds so that they can unlock new games and characters.
