This is an amazing Lego set with loads of different things to build and code. We bought it for my 7 year old who is already learning coding at school so thought this would be a great gift. He loves the Lego and building the different models. However the coding has left him disappointed as it is very very basic. He was hoping for a bit more interactivity. Definitely a great starting point for coding but might not be enough for kids who are already into coding. Also had issues setting it up as it required an update to it's firmware that you had to download a cometely different Lego app to basically force the update to happen. Had to resort to Reddit to work it all out as the Lego support was no help at all.

Brought for my son for his 7th birthday as he is very into Lego and robots and is getting into coding. My son loves this set and there are so many different things he can create with him, it's kept him busy and engaged. Expensive but I think this is worth it as it has been educational as well as fun.

This has been a big hit with my seven year old son. He wasn't much of a Lego fan, but loves to build things with motors etc. Now he's asking for more Lego sets! We built the different robots out of order, so finding the right pieces wasn't easy. The app didn't specify which bags of Legos you needed for the cat, for example, so it was a lot of hunting for specific pieces. The app is a nice touch and my son enjoys clicking to the next screen as he builds. The robots make cute sounds (through your device, not through the robots themselves) and perform fun actions that you can string in whatever order you want. It's easy to figure out how to "program" actions on the app and my son was using alone almost immediately. If your kids like Legos or robotics, this would be a great set for them. We'll be buying more Lego sets to use with our Boost.
