This product is retired, yes, however it is readily available via BrickLink for a decent price. I picked it up recently and all I can say is wow. It was fun and challenging to build, there were LOTS of very small pieces that come together to form the droid we know and love. The finished product looks phenomenal. My one complaint is that the transition from standing to “moving” R2 is not as easy and seamless as I would have liked, however I have it on display, so this isn’t a deal breaker. Overall great set, recommended!

When I purchased this (for my 40th birthday), it was the largest single Lego set I have ever purchased/received. A friend of mine purchased the UCS X-wing and we arranged a Star Wars and Lego day. With the movies playing in the background on DVD we commenced our building operations. Finally halfway through Empire, I was done with R2. Quite challenging, especially his head with the shades of blue, diminishing light and my bad eyes. Very impressive set and the anchor piece of my Episode 4-focussed collection. I am not in Australia, but it was the closest country to where I am.

Amazing lego set, great build, and nothing to complain about. Retired so pick up before it gets too expensive, wish I picked it up when I saw it in the store but got it for a price that wasn't too bad so can't complain

The box was open, but all the parts were in their factory bags and nothing was missing. This has to be my most favorite piece yet.
