What a great design, the mechanics structure insid is really something else. Very not just buckle to buckle like other set. But really some structures for the landinggear. Looks great and gear works great. With this pris. Quite worth it

I got this model on a sale, otherwise I would have passed it. It was unexpectedly much fun to build the set and play with it afterwards. As a finished model it looks much better than in photos, the mid-blue, red, black, white color scheme is quite nice. The build was challenging as there are many lifters to connect with each other in the right way. Also it's important at a few steps to keep the wheels in up position. I'm glad I have built this model and can recommend this model to any Lego Technic fan.

I enjoyed putting this together. The power functions are very clever. The fan bay opening for the VTOL is extremely well done. My only problem is when people play with it and open the bay and turn on the fan, if they bump it, the fan can get dislodged. I have rebuilt that part of the model twice now. The model is a lot of fun after you finish it, it looks good as a display piece. It is fun to play with, an all around good model.

First of all, this is the first time I've had a LEGO set for nearly 40 years. After watching LEGO Masters on TV, I looked online out of curiosity and saw the Technic range. Instantly I knew I had to have a go at building one. I settled on the Air Race Jet and I wasn't disappointed. The set offered a challenge whilst the instructions (which are unbelievably good!) kept me on the right track. The set is bigger than I imagined and remarkably sturdy (even for my clumsy hands), the working undercarriage and VTOL power functions are excellent. This may have been my first Technic set but certainly won't be my last. I am already planning my next big build and consider myself to be a confirmed AFOL!
