Brother 1034DX - Lockmachine

I sew every day. I had a very cranky ten year old Brother serger that I replaced with this yesterday at our vacation home. I made 25 items in 75 minutes without any frustration. It made me so happy! I have had my other one for three years with no issues at all. I thought I could save $60 and buy the cheaper DX model. Watch the you tube comparisons. This is worth every penny. I’m so glad. If this is your first serger, don’t be scared. Playing you tube while threading and stopping it to mimic the action shown will help you. You will get it pretty quickly. Your items will look professional. Learn from me- Don’t change the settings until you understand why you should for a project. This is a really great machine.

Very popular serger has been on the market more than 10 years and Is said to be the easiest one to thread. Reasonably priced for a serger. Professional looking seams. Had to watch an up close video to see how to thread lower looper. I was trying to make the thread go where it doesn't. The slide part is a guide that only pushes the thread inside the machine and clicks in place. The thread doesn't really attach to the slide bar, just loops around the left edge to push thread into machine. Use quality serger thread to help machine run smoothly. It is softer and more comfortable for seam edges, also. MaxiLock is great. Great videos online! Just look up more Brother 1034D videos! I've only done two seams, but look forward to learning more.

After much research on beginner sergers or overlock machines, I selected this one. I am not a seamstress and sew more as a hobby. I am getting very close to retirement so I decided to invest more in my sewing hobby. If you are a beginner like me, this machine will amaze you. It’s so cool. I have not had much time to play with it but it lives up to its reputation as easy to thread, it has a cutting catcher which is handy and I can’t wait to have more time to sew. So far I have made simple things like zippered bags, but I am watching videos and learning more about this amazing little machine.

This is my first experience with a serger, but so far so good. There is tons of info and youtube videos out there about this machine and that has helped me learn how to use it. The seller: I bought this machine as refurbished from Ken’s Sewing and Vacuum Center. It came beautifully packaged, looked new, and with all default accessories. Was totally worth getting refurbed at a lower price. I have bought another sewing machine from this seller as well, and again was a fabulous experience. So I can whole-heartedly recommend them as a seller of sewing machines. The serger is solid, reasonably easy to use (there is still a learning curve, but with some research, manual reading, and patience, it’s not too bad). The price is really reasonable for an entry level serger and I would totally recommend this machine for someone who wants a serger but doesn’t want to pay an insane amount. It has helped me to beautifully finish seams!

So the product looked intact however the accessory kit was missing from the box. The instruction manual states there is a kit that should be included however including extra needles, cover, etc. All of that was missing.
