I bought one of these in a sale, I drink coffee every day, and whilst it seemed a lot to fork out, it has been worth every penny. You can experiment to your hearts content with different beans, grinds, strengths, and no expensive pods to worry about. The steam wand creates fantastic froth and hot milk, and unlike other machines I've had the coffee is piping hot. Also, though it's not mentioned in the instructions, it does a rinse through when you switch it on which is handy. The only negative is the plate that the cups sit on scratches very easily which makes it look a little tatty, but I've sourced a couple of spares cheaply for when people are over! Love it.
