Jura S8 Piano Black (EA)

This is our second Jura from Whole Latte Love. Twenty years ago we had an older model - think it was an S9 but not sure. It finally died on us a few years ago and we’ve been doing the K-cup thing ever since. We decided to get another Jura and are loving it so far (so much that we’re considering a second unit for our winter home).

It is a Christmas gift for my wife. I hope it works out and I believe it will. Her Nespresso machine is about to crash. I did want another pod time machine any more. JURA should be a thousand times better. Personally I’ve had macchiatos, flat whites, and just a regular cup of coffee. They were amazing.

We replaced our 15 year old Jura Impressa with a Gaggia, and decided after just one day, the Gaggia wasn't for us. While it had some wonderful features, we were just to used to Jura, and exchanged the Gaggia for the Jura S8. We appreciate the large water tank, the large drip tray and used coffee puck holder the most on our old and new Jura model. Not to mention, the flavor of the coffee is outstanding. I'm all for trying new things, but the water capacity and drip tray capacity of the Jura far exceeds the Gaggia and was a deal breaker for us. The milk system on the Gaggia was so easy to use, and I loved the cup warmer on the top. The Jura milk system is easy to use (the Gaggia was better) and it doesn't have a mug warmer on the unit. But, we have the separate Jura warmer that we've had for 15 years, and it's still going strong. Overall, refilling the water very frequently and emptying the drip tray very frequently on the Gaggia, brought us back to Jura.

It doesn't come cheap and can take some getting used to, but there's no doubt the Jura S8 is a fantastic coffee maker: it's well designed, it comes packed with more features than ever, the drink options are many and varied, and the coffee it produces tastes amazing.

Great coffee machine which offers variety of drinks. Worth spending on it.
