Maxed out my Dell. A lot quicker with multiple apps open. One of those upgrades that makes a good PC better. I noted in research that its best to match the manufacturer's choice rather that getting something that appears better or faster. Turns out that some of the units aren't all that compatible with the Dell system. Nice to see the application spelled out in the tech notes. Saved me a lot of anxiety.

Highly Compatible CAS 11 DDR3 RAM I added 2 sticks to a Dell XPS 8500 and another 2 sticks to an XPS 8700 - bringing them each up to 24 GB in 4 slots. In both cases the RAM passes all Dell diagnostic tests and Memtest86+. It also operates at a full 1600 MHz and has a throughput of at least 18 GB/s. I had tried to use lower-latency G.Skill RAM, but the Dell BIOS was not capable of using an XMP profile, and tried to run the low-latency RAM at slower speeds. So in this case, the slightly slower and cheaper Kingston RAM was exactly what I needed.

This was my third try at finding memory compatible with my Dell XPS 8700 system. The earlier ones dropped down to 1333 MHz instead of 1600 MHz. These DIMMs were priced higher but they run a their rated frequency without any problems

Per Kingston's website, I purchased this to upgrade the memory in a Dell Optiplex 3020. It works.

I used the Kingston webpage to figure out what memory I needed for a Dell XPS 8500. The order was delivered quickly, and now my Win7 64 bit OS has plenty of memory - enough to keep large applications like Photoshop and Lightroom fast.
