It takes quite a bit of trial and era to pull two lavs into a video cam, Also, there is something quirky about changing the ports (1-2-3-4) when you want to record via port 1 and 3. I am stuck on port 1 and 2 and cannot release the setting. Port 1 and 2 are on the same side of the recorder so a bit awkward to support two 3-pin lines in.

Initially, I bought this because of one of media companies that I work with was doing a type of report after a show 3 microphones going at one time. Doing it this was as appose to sharing one microphone for the group. The type of wrap-up was nixed. Moving forward using my mic hooked straight into the camera made it sound mono on the output. Hooking up the wireless system to the to the Zoom then output to the camera has made it super sexy to control the mic levels. Its been Awesome for foley recording from the attachment mic to the Zoom itself. I also hooked this up to Adobe Premiere to be used as an Audio interface and sounds awesome. This cant get any better

This compact device packs a punch. I had 4 xlr mics hooked up and the sound was very consistent. Probably wont be using my behringer 1232 much. Glad I upgraded. Great investment

Preserving the local music culture is easy with this recorder. Im a fan of a several local bands who freely permit recording of their shows. Using this with either microphone and the Zoom WSU-1 Hairy Windscreen for outdoor recordings provides a great capture. The unit has a variety of formats to save your recording. I typically use 48KHz/24-bit, which makes a good master for FLAC and MP3 codes. The unit includes a free download copy of Steinbergs Wavebase 9.5 LE, which works well for editing the master track into individual tracks. The unit is easy on batteries, too. At one location Im able to plug in to AC power, but at other locations I need to run on batteries. The Zoom AD-17 AC Adapter is all you need for this. I also bought the Auray RC-Z6 Remote Control, which is quite handy when the recorder is a few feet from easy hand reach.

I bought this specifically to record ambients but quickly discovered how flexible the Zoom H6 is. Everything works perfectly, it records very clean audio (in my opinion), the mics that come with it are great (I would say similar quality to a mic that costs twice what I paid for everything), 6 discrete and customizable channels (that was a huge selling point). Its lite-weight and easy to use. The deadcat is 100% worth the little extra it adds onto the price.
