Sennheiser RS 195 BLACK

A wonderful set of headphones recommended by Fred which are perfect for my hard of hearing husband. The charging overnight is easy and they are extremely comfortable to wear. Thanks Richer Sounds Bath!

The Sennheiser RS195s were bought for one very specific purpose: watching TV. I am profoundly/severely deaf and TV speech eludes me even with subtitles which often come and go too quickly given the speed of speech in the 21stC. They did the trick in almost every case. The variety of the differently curved tonal options offered by the RS195s were up to the job of matching just about every voice presentation, from football commentary to drama. They're bright and cutting in tone but they need to be. One gripe: the RS195s exert quite a fearsome grip on the ears and are hardly lightweight, but they carry some decent hardware in those black cups. So on balance definitely worth the outlay. They've certainly helped me rediscover how terrible so much TV is

The item is very good, but for me it is let down a little by a couple of minor things. That said, the sound quality is excellent. One is that I wear spectacles, and the head phones quite often "squeak" on my frames when I move my head. The second is the length of the power cable. As I have a hi-fi unit, I have to have a small extension lead now, to give enough length to the power cable. I did wonder if it was worth subtracting one star, but with the "squeak", it is a little annoying, as I have to keep my head still, or move it very slowly. Wireless headphones for me are better than blue tooth equivalents.

Setup as per the instructions, unit showed it was receiving the correct signal from the TV but no sound transmitted to the Headphones. Tried different optical cables and ensured the TV settings were correct, still no sound. Gave up , sent it back.
