AKG C214

I use this in the studio for recording my violin. I'm impressed with the very low noise floor and the excellent sensitivity that picks up every nuance of my playing. It faithfully reproduces the full range of tones emanating from my instrument.

I bought one recently and I had great expectations, nonetheless; when I opened and tested it, it came broken. I have tested it in different audio interfaces, changing the cable and nothing change. My mic sounds muffled and only in certain positions it sounds as expected.

I am a professional musician, Prior to this I was using an AT4047/SV and prior to that an AT2035. The 4047 is a 700 dollar microphone and the 2035 is around 250.. When I tried this mic for the first time I bought it on the spot and I prefer it WAY more than my 4047/SV.. That thing just collects dust now.. I use the C214 nearly every day and look forward to upgrading to the C414 soon.

I recently upgraded from a spark BLU microphone to AKG-C214 and let me tell you , you was great . 5 out of 5 stars for sure if your in the market for a great mic within the $500-$600 range this mic is the perfect one . The staff At Sam Ash always helpful and knowledgeable as always
