My monitor started to flicker on the day 12-month warranty ends. What a coincidence! It is 1/5 for the value of money we pay for this product.

It was a good display when it was working. I bought 4 of these for my design team and one of the panels just failed (less than 2 years old but of course out of warranty). Now I'm out $250 for service fees. I have older Samsung panels that have been running for 5+ years with no issues. Please read all reviews before purchasing.

Won't buy again. No problem with the quality of the image - for me it was more about lack of consistent performance as an external monitor with my 2021 M1 MacBook Pro. I wasn't even able to get 4k 60hz - there may have been a moment when I did but more often than not I didn't. Tried everything. I have wasted so many hours trying different cable combinations and installing monitor management software but I was never able to get what I needed out of the monitor. Luckily I bought mine through Amazon and they gave me a refund. I tried going through Samsung for troubleshooting but that ended up wasting more time (because I hadn't purchased directly from them they couldn't help me).

I bought the ViewFinity S9 5K monitor because it was comparable to those of competitors but was on sale for half price. Also, Samsung had a reputation for being a reliable brand. It worked well for just over a year — the color was great, text was sharp, it has a Thunderbolt 4 connection. I **REALLY** liked the monitor. Then I started having thin, flickering lines across the bottom of the screen. Last week, after 16 months of daily use, the monitor refused to come on — it looked like the backlights tried to come on but turned off again. The same thing happens whether the monitor is connected to my Mac or only to power. Now, because Samsung only provides a 1-year warranty (unless you pay extra), I'm stuck with a $1,599 piece of trash. VERY unhappy!! UPDATE: There's hope. After spending 60-90 minutes in a chat, Samsung agreed to make an exception and repair the monitor. I'm currently waiting for the shipping box. If it does get repaired, I'll update this review again.
