I switched from Nikon D600 and some fine...

I switched from Nikon D600 and some fine lenses, and shocked. Nikon kits for Nikon F DX are bad, seems Nikon Z kits too. This one is not. Never buy it for 300$ new, but for 100-150$ it is a great lens for travel and general use when you dont need a supreme bokeh. I bought it clearly understanding it`s limitations, and having some nice manual lenses like Jupiter 37a in hand for portraits and blur, but this one is a really nice to start with, much better than DSLR kit lenses are. If i wasn`t pixel-picker, i would`of leave it on a camera and just klick the button, high ISO of Fuji sensors are forgiving to such an f values. Worth bying used, convinient, sharp.

No frills lens that does the job

I find the lens nice & sharp for general use, it's small & light & works well on my XE2s as a walk around setup but i did think it a little pricey for a lens with a plastic mount not bought as part of a kit, plastic mounts tend to wear quicker but this will stay on the camera so not an issue, on the whole very happy with the pictures it produces & that's what matters

Very sharp, lightweight, but not the most sold...

Once you get past the cheap feeling build and the power zoom, this is a surpringly great lens. Significantly better sharpness than my XF18-55 at the wider end and roughly comparable at the longer end. Mine has taken a tumble onto a hard surface and has survived totally fine apart from some scuffs on the body, so it's more robust than it may first appear. OIS is good, not the best, but I can certainly use much longer exposures handheld compared to my primes without IS. There's not getting away from the tacky feeling power zoom and overall presentation of the lens not giving that same feeling as a nice, solid, XF lens in use. That said, the construction does result in it being very lightweight. It's also not the sort of lens you should be looking at if bokeh quality is a key criteria - definitely not a strength. Where it is strong is as a very sharp, lightweight lens, ideal for hiking etc

A genuine surprise, but a welcome one. I surmise that actual, real-world resolution improvements between Fuji’s sensors - the 16, then the 24 and now the 26mp have been slight to almost non-existent and that Fuji has launched this lens at the lower end of the market to make up for that. And in many ways it does.

Outstanding travel and back-up lens

For daylight shots, the quality, versatility, weight, size and price of this lens make it a must-have. Versatile back-up that you can carry in your pocket in case the prime lens you mounted doesnt quite work for a specific situation. I have only used it in the 15-25 mm range so far, but quality has been outstanding.
