I am using this lens with film--I cant comment on how it goes with digital cameras. Very sharp, consistent lens at all apertures and across the field of view. Quite smooth continuum between in-focus and OOF areas--if youre obsessed with bokeh this might not be the lens you want, though its there on a relatively subtle level. I dont generally splurge on Leica lenses but I do think this one is significantly better than any cheaper options at this focal length. The attached was taken on TMax 100 on a gloomy day with the aperture wide open.

Good Points: A well built and optically superb 28mm lens for the Leica M system. It is small and light - ideal when carrying a camera bag for long periods. It represents value for money. Improvement Points: There's nothing to dislike about this lens.

Good Points: It’s an incredibly sharp lens with no distortion. Really compact and does not interfere with the rangefinder viewer at. My first Leica lens - well chuffed !

This lens's superb optical performance and build quality are well-documented. I additionally love it for its compact size: It's the smallest Leica-M lens, practically a pancake, which makes it perfect for travel. It also blocks far less of the viewfinder than the faster 28s. Note that this lens has a focusing tab, and no knurled focusing ring. I prefer the tab for fast handheld work (which is the Leica M's forte), but if you don't like tabs, you should check out other offerings.
