The field curvature on this lens is not our cup of tea.

As billed and reviewed by others this is an incredible piece of engineering, Percision, and beauty. The images it captures and produces are stunning. Anyone who can afford it who has ever lusted after this lens, like I did, should indulge before you get too old. It?s a special, special treat.

This lens is simply incredible. Wide-open it has a look unlike anything else, while stopped down it is essentially just as good as the outstanding 50 LUX. That Noctilux look isn't just shallow depth of field, but also color, rendering, and just a beautiful way that light is transferred to sensor or film. The Noctilux doesn't really make very much sense, but it is so good that it really doesn't have to. It was the most difficult purchase decision I ever made, but since buying it, I rarely think about the price and have absolutely ZERO regrets.

Not the sharpest lens in the world wide open, but nothing beats this lens' bokeh. The creamy out-of-focus areas are too die for. This is also a great low-light lens as the f/0.95 aperture allows you to use relatively fast shutter speeds for handholding.

If your style is bokehlicious, this is the lens for you. The super creamy bokeh is too die for. Not the sharpest lens when shot wide open, but the dreamy bokeh more than makes up for it. It is a challenge to nail the focus at f/0.95, so take a series of shots just in case. Also, make sure you get a neutral density filter if you want to shoot wide open in mid day. Attached is a photo shot wide open at f/0.95 in a backlit situation.
