In spending a few days photographing Berlin, I had a 21, 35, 50 and 75mm lens, and for my style found the 50mm most used. The images are sharp, colors pronounced, and overall lens quality and build superb. Maybe it comes with the territory, but Leica lenses are expensive.

Bought what I thought was one of the best lenses in the world. I couldn't wait to get it! It arrived,I was stoked! Tested it against my other Sony 55 and.....huh? It was soft wide open..?? My Sony 55 was WAY better! AND sharper! I'm astonished....totally baffled. Its either everyone here are confused, haven't seen the Sony 55, or I simply got an awful copy of this lens. I'm sooooo disappointed, and I'm off LEICA for good, can't chance it.

Very well made. I tried the Zeiss Planar T* 2/50 ZM first. It was not as well made as a Leica lens. Easy to focus with the Leica M10. I missed the focus tab that is on my Summicron 28 f/2. I got the small TAAB focus ring with the focus tab and it makes it a lot easier to focus

I selected this lens to go with my dream camera, a M10. This lens has lived up everything I have heard. My Q has a 28mm Summilux, so I opted for a slightly longer lens for this body. Glad I did. It's built like a battleship, with quality I have come to expect from Leica.

I have just moved to using Leica Camera and my first purchase was the Leica SL with 24-90mm lens. Since then I have purchased the 50mm F/1.4 lens and now my very first Leica Manual Summicron-M 50mm F/2 lens. Using manual lens for the first time and this lens has produced some magnificently sharp and colorful photos. It is worth the investment and I must say, once you buy this lens ... there is just no going back. It will lead you to purchasing more Leica lenses. So if you don't want a Leica M lens collection, do not even test this lens. You will get hooked.
