Nikon 50mm f/1.8D AF Nikkor

MOUNT COVER with usefull AF Lens! Good Lens with super low-cost both FX and DX. Recommend If you spend all money to body or another lens. Quality isn't bad in this price. If you have more money for buying 50mm single lens, I'll recommend 50/1.4D.

Good Points: Its very good for what it was made for. Improvement Points: It is more limited in what I thought I could do with it. I thought I would be able to use it for more different shots but it is acceptable for me.

This was my first prime lens purchase and I...

This was my first prime lens purchase and I have never regretted it. The quality and bokeh are amazing, and the price point is very affordable, well worth it. You will make portraits with this that will get you compliments for years. Best of all, the 1.8 aperture lets in tons of light, so you get bokeh and a lot of shooting flexibility. The bokeh is dreamy, and at 50mm, the APS-C crop makes it more like a 75mm, which is perfect for portraits. That being said, you may sometimes find it hard to go wide enough in certain cramped conditions, in which case I also recommend buying the 35mm version of this same lens for those circumstances. Buy both lens, it is well worth it. I found a whole new unexpected love for portrait photography after getting this lens, and I get many compliments on the shots from this on my 7200.

I give it two stars not because of the quality...

I give it two stars not because of the quality of the lens itself, which I guess is good, based of general reviews across the Internet. Two stars because I had read that it was compatible with D3200 series, as long as we do MANUAL FOCUS. So I thought it wouldn't be a deal breaker to simply manually find the right focus. However, in practice that's not enough, at least with the D3200. It seems like the communication lens - camera is just not possible, so even if you get the right focus in the view finder, the actual picture quite often is out of focus. It's a shame, because it really looks like a good lens. It's just that is not working well with my D3200. I must either upgrade to a camera that does the AF itself and can interact with this 50mm 1.8d, like for instance the D7200 series, or simply get the 50mm 1.8g.

Love it!

Using this lens with my D7200. Awesome portraits. Focuses fast. No issues whatsoever. And, at this price, its an incredible buy.
