Nikon Z 85mm F/1.2 S-line Nikkor

I love this lens, the Nikon Z 85mm f/1.2, but it's on the heavy side. However, I have used Nikon lenses in Vietnam. Weight to me means good glass. It balances pretty well when cradled in my left hand on my Z8.I would recommend this lens to anyone who likes quality and great bokeh.Rick Musselman

Outstanding lens! Mounted to my Z8, it grabs focus right now. I have fewer discards than ever. The lens is especially useful for what I do (indoor low light hula competitions) like no other. The large aperture allows me to pick up 2-3 stops on the ISO dial, with the attendant improvement in IQ. On a 45mp sensor camera, large crops are possible. Why shoot at F2.8 or 4 when 1.4 allows 2 stops gain in ISO? It's a little big, but so am I. I did encounter a situation when I captured one eye in focus, but the other was totally blotto. Gotta pay attention to the details!

I'm just an amateur hobbyist, but figured it wouldn't let equipment limit my learning curve, so I've splurged more than any hobbyist should on this (and other Z lenses). Regardless, this lens has made me not want to put my Z8 down. Sharp, fast, and AMAZING in low light.

I own Nikon's Z85mm f1.8S lens, and was very satisfied. As a professional portrait photographer, I decided to see if this lens lives up to the hype. It takes my 85mm experience to a next level. Incredible low light gathering, plus gorgeous bokeh. I love the control ring, which I set for ISO. So easy to maintain shutter and aperture in manual mode. My function button is set for image review, so I no longer need to remove the camera from my eye to hunt for the review button. The lens is heavy and expensive, but stays on my Z9 as a portrait artist. My user experience is worth the price and weight. If doing a wedding or traveling, I use my f/1.8 for light weight and great images. For studio and limited time outdoor portraits, this is perfection!

Coupled with the Z9, this is an unbeatable concert lens! Focus is fast and accurate, delivering sharp images, even wide open with moving subjects. I could not be more pleased!
