Panasonic Dg 3,5-5,6/14-140 Ii Ois Camera Lens Clair

This lens does exactly what it is supposed to, focus light on the sensor. It works very well for me. It makes really nice photos and videos on my GX9 (this item I have qualms about). My only disappointment was the minimum focus distance is 1.6 from 22 mm to 140 mm (not11.81 as stated on B&H web site; that is only for 14 mm to 21 mm).

This is great for having one lens. However... It is not as sharp as more expensive lenses. You get what you pay for as the saying goes. In time, I will buy a more expensive lens.. or a few of them that have a lower F stop and less zoom range with better sharpness.

For years I have documented my sons acting group with video and photos. Using the 14-140 I shot their most recent show and was pleased to note the exceptional depth of field in the pictures of actors on the stage--both close and distant actors were clear and easily recognizable in the 4x6s I printed. It attracted the attention of the semi-pro photographer using a Canon 5D MII and L series lenses. She requested all my files to include in the groups annal calendar.

I bought this lens for additional range; it does the job very well. Sharp at the wide and telephoto distances. As a walk around lens, it suits the purpose excellently. I'm not using for low light shooting.

I normally shy away from zooms, especially all-in-one zooms like this one, but the 14-140 really surprised me. It's wonderfully sharp, hardly any CA, with an incredibly useful zoom range. When I travel, I can leave this on my camera and capture 90% of my shots. With the Dual IS 2 of the Panasonic G85 (or similar), the image stabilization works amazingly as well. I can easily handhold at night and shoot fireworks, for example, and the photos are very sharp. it focuses very quickly too. Highly recommended.
