Pentax HD D-FA 15-30mm F2.8 ED SDM WR

I have only used this lens coupled with my Pentax K-1, and the results are nothing short of spectacular. The image quality for this zoom is on par from what Id expect from a prime lens. The lens is quite large but easy to use. The front element is quite exposed, so I always keep my lens cap on when not in use. It does take a 150mm square filter system, I use the Haida version but theyre also available from Lee, NiSi, Wonderpana, and Im sure a few others. This lens isnt cheap, and neither are the filters if youre looking to use NDs. But the quality makes up for it.

I like wide angle portrait shots. So this is my favorite lens and I use it on first priority. It privides a clear view so I enjoy using it. It doesnt have much distortion as well. I use it almost for a year now and Im happy overall. I strongly recommend this lens.

Have only been using this lens for a short time, but I love the lack of distortion youd associate with an extreme wide like 15mm. Glad to have this as part of my main battery of lenses. It is a bit heavy, but what isnt with this much glass involved. Great lens!

Good Points: Fantastic image quality, very solid construction and quick focus. Brilliant built quality. Improvement Points: Very big and heavy. However, the lens looks good on the K1.

very sharp lens. The zooming and focusing rings work with just the right amount of pressure. The 2.8 aperature works well for night sky photos. The autofocus is quick and quiet. The only drawbacks are the hefty weight and no filter threads to attach filters.
