It’s got an ok build, and focusing can be difficult, but at the price you can get these at nothing really competes. If you don’t need autofocus I’d highly recommend this lens.

Does not work with NIKON D7000! Will not take photo in auto or manual settings. Will not work in digital view back screen or manual view through small eye window. Will not auto focus! DO NOT BUY THIS LENS!

Really great lens as far as image quality is concerned, and a great value. This is my first fully manual lens, and I enjoy the novelty of setting the aperture and focus manually. The focus ring is a joy to use - it's very smooth and has a long range of movement. The lens body comes painted with a random textured pattern of small droplet-like bumps that I wasn't fond of at first, but maybe it will increase grip and be useful. The lens is a little large. I'd prefer a 35mm that had a flatter profile, but not if it means sacrificing image quality.

I have had this lens for about at year. In the beginning I was disappionted with sharpness. Then I realizsed that even a manual fouuc lens needs AF-fine tune. After fine tuning it, it is a stunning change. Marvellous sharpness and great bokeh. Great for night-shots too. Yes, it is heavy but is worth it.

I just can't get over the image quality of this lens. I shoot landscapes mainly from F5.6-11 and for my application I would have to spend $5000 on the Otus 35mm to get better image quality. I mainly use IS zooms with autofocus when out and about and hiking, but when the scene and lighting all come together and I'm slowing things down on the tripod this is one of the lenses I turn to. I find it amazing that a company can come from nowhere and produce a product as astonishing as this for such an affordable price. Bravo Samyang!
