I purchased this lens for my Sony A7 as I wanted a good macro lens. This lens is sharp and works well with the A7. Put the camera in aperture mode and set the ISO to what you want (do not use auto ISO) and the camera will get the correct exposure. I will also recommend a ring-light with a constant light setting for macro work.

Purchased this for usage with my Sony A7R and A7S. It is a very sharp lens, but the depth of field is hilariously shallow at f/2.8. Still, it takes great pictures. Here are two recent samples captured with it on the A7R, stopped down to around 5.6-7. The focus and aperture work great, just be prepared for a fully manual lens. 10/10 would buy again

I bought this lens for Macro photography using an X-T1. The lens does the job and for Fuji at the moment the only alternative is the Fuji 60mm which I think is too short. The Samyang was larger than I expected, but for Macro it's not an issue. IQ is ok but quite soft at the edges. The later is less of an issue for the type of macro photography I do. The Aperture ring feels quite flimsy and rattles. The fit between the lens and the body has a little bit of play, but not an issue.

IQ is fantastic. Images are sharp and crispy with plenty of contrast and color. Build quality is great. All mechanical parts have a good quality feel - focus ring is smooth and has the right amount of resistance and the aperture ring clicks nicely. With practice, manual focus is easy especially with peaking and focus magnification or other electronic aids. The only reason I don't give it 5/5 stars is because it's huge. It would definitely be more comfortable on a DSLR than the a6000 but it isn't too unwieldy. For me, the image quality and value makes up for the compromise of compactness. If a tripod collar was included it would be even better.

This 100mm macro lens from Samyang is a very good lens indeed. It delivers sharp images, with low CA and distortion. Focusing is smooth and build quality is good also. Taking the excellent performance of this lens into account, it seems a shame that this lens is priced as it is. Having so many alternatives available that have an excellent reputation for the image quality they can deliver with autofocus and in some cases, optical stabilisation available, for less money, it makes the case for purchasing this lens a difficult one to put across.
