Had this lens for over a month now and absolutely loving it, It is crazy excessively wide but such a cool lens to have. Perfect for travel, indoor or astrophotography. Been using it for a lot of events lately makes the room feel huge and lots of people plus the low light helps so much as often I'm indoors. It also gets very unique photos of people with the f/1.8 you get shallow DOF in a wide I'm very impressed. Autofocus works surprisingly well for such a wide angle with f1.8. Gets amazing landscape photos as well. Great video lens too but you will want to use Manual for the video. Different perspective on scenes and f1.8 good for B Roll.

This lens is not for everybody. If you need wide and fast and don't mind the weight and the price, get yourself one. Only negative I can think of is you can't use conventional filters.

The Sigma 14mm lens is a well made, sharp and very rectilinear lens and well worth the money. There are a couple of gotchas the lens is big and heavy and not something you can throw in a camera bag just in case. There's no aperture ring but autofocus can be turned off and the lens used with manual focus that being said, at 14mm, almost everything is going to be in focus. Apart from astronomy, few are going to really need 1.8 and it would be nice if a smaller, lighter version was available at a more sensible 2.8. Finally, we measured the angle of view at more like 105 than 114 which is not unusual with lens manufacturers though it could be partially down to the camera's viewfinder.

IMO this lens is built for one purpose only: astrophotography. In other words, if you are looking for a versatile ultra-wide-angle lens capable of multiple tasks, this 14mm F/1.8 Art is not what you want (and get a 11-24, 14-24, or 16-35 instead). This lens is so specialized in astrophotography that honestly it will likely be sitting in your dry cabinet for a long time. However, for anyone who craves for the Milky Way above us, this is your Eye of Sauron.
