This is an absolutely spectacular lens. Optically it is superb: sharpness, contrast, color saturation is brilliant. Excellent for anything from astrophotography to portraits. Some may find the bokeh less than great. My sample had excellent AF performance, reliably hitting focus where it was needed. If your lens has AF issues, get it calibrated - it is totally worth it. Used it for paid work and never had any issues with it. This is the best lens I have ever owned.

Good Points: Amazing sharp lens, optics are flawless even wide open. Improvement Points: Auto focus is not quite as good as Sony lenses and the lens is heavy.

An exceptional piece of kit that will get you some wonderful photos. Sharp as hell and very fast and accurate autofocus. 50mm is an ideal general or street photography lens, and even worth a try for honing in on particular elements of cityscapes and landscapes. The f/1.4 and overall construction make it superb optically with good low-light characteristics. Possibly the best on the market at this focal length apart from the expensive manual focus jobs.

Listing says US version but it is NOT. Back of the lens came apart, sent it to sigma and it’s not covered by warranty because it’s not the US model.
