Zeiss Batis 18 mm f/2.8 Sony FE

This lens has amazing image quality. It is sharp corner to corner across the range. Contrast and color rendition are excellent. The autofocus is fast and accurate. I use this lens for landscapes and architectural shots--lots of church interiors. This lens has the perfect focal lens for my needs so that I decided against getting wide angle zoom. It is a great travel lens, and it always is in my travel bag. It complements my 24-105mm beautifully. When I need to travel light I just take these two lenses.

Because of back issues, and the importance of weight, Im shooting on my a6500 a lot these days. The Batis 18 serves as a 27 mm on the crop sensor of the a6500 -- an ideal setup for a walk around lens (in my opinion). The Batis 18 is everything you could want: sharp with outstanding color. Im looking forward to many years of good service from this wonderful lens.

I love this lens. Its great for landscape shots. Using this lens on my Sony A7rii & SonyA7Rii. Lens is light and easy to use.

After years of shooting interiors with tilt shift lenses on a Canon body, I tried the Batis 18mm on my A7rIII for comparison. Wow! Beautiful natural colors, sharp, great contrast. Auto focus is fast and accurate. Didnt notice any CA - I shot at F8. The A7rIII and Batis 18mm together are a winner!
