Guerlain Eau de Cologne Impériale est une cologne classique aux agrumes, construite autour de la bergamote, du citron et du néroli, avec en soutien de la lavande, de la fève tonka et des bois. Elle est largement saluée pour son caractère très frais, propre et intemporel, et convient clairement aux femmes comme aux hommes. Beaucoup la portent surtout par temps chaud ou comme splash revigorant pour se rafraîchir, parfois même en cas de léger mal de tête. Il est toutefois important de garder à l’esprit qu’il s’agit d’une véritable eau de cologne : la tenue sur la peau est limitée, et plusieurs avis regrettent qu’elle soit en grande partie dissipée après 15 à 60 minutes, sauf si l’on en remet généreusement. Le caractère citronné prononcé est perçu comme pétillant et lumineux par les amateurs, mais certains le trouvent trop unidimensionnel ou trop proche de l’odeur de produits ménagers. La composition est volontairement simple et peu complexe, ce qui est idéal si l’on cherche quelque chose de léger et immédiatement frais, mais moins adapté si l’on souhaite une expérience parfumée profonde et très durable.

The scent is a lovely light and refreshing, doesn't last as long as other colognes. It would be nice to get an eau de toilette I use it every day. Bottle finished just bought another.,Bottle is beautiful to look at. I've given four stars based on the fragrance not lasting long.

I always wear this cologne and stock up whenever there is a discount. I struggle with perfumes as so many are too overpowering for me, this is beautiful, light and fresh. It would be five stars if it had just a little more staying power.

L'eau Imperial is the most amazing scent. It has citrus and bergamot tones and is my very favourite perfume atm. It was apparently made for Empress Eugenie wife of Napoleon 111. I was thrilled to see that John Lewis stocked it after doing a number of searches. It's a very refreshing scent and appeals to both men and women. I won't go out without it on!

This is certainly the 2nd best Eau de Cologne I have ever bought, sadly in 1st place was one called Eau de Frivole by Givenchy which I bought directly from Fragonard, Grasse France in 1973 but is no longer made. I would not hesitate to recommend Guerlains Imperiale Eau de Cologne, surely the cream of the crop!
