Dior Sauvage EDP is a refined version of the EDT with a bit more depth. While the EDT charges ahead with spice and Ambroxan, the EDP is better controlled, feeling lighter, more ethereal, and giving the slightly fruitier component more prominence. A very subtle vanilla rounds off the elegance. It feels cool, fresh, and airy. In terms of performance, I find the picture somewhat surprising. The EDT projects stronger than the EDP, which becomes more skin-close after a few hours. Both are about equal in longevity. Nevertheless, I prefer the EDP more, as it is more pleasant and unobtrusive.

Right after spraying, I am hit by a wonderfully natural citrus freshness. The lemon and bergamot come across as clear, high-quality, and not artificial at all. It’s the kind of freshness that reminds me more of a freshly ironed shirt and a well-groomed appearance than of a modern shower gel. Over time, the scent becomes a bit softer and more aromatic. The famous airy signature of Eau Sauvage gives it a special lightness, without ever appearing trivial. That’s exactly what I like so much: It doesn’t try to force attention but conveys style and confidence in a very natural way. I find it particularly impressive how balanced the composition feels. Nothing stands out unpleasantly; everything harmonizes beautifully. The slightly woody and vetiver-like base gives the fragrance enough depth to remain interesting without losing its fresh radiance.
