Very powerful and robust. Fitted with a diamond disc it sliced through two inch concrete slabs like a knife through butter. It's tough but weighty. Best kept for tough jobs like concrete and heavy steel.

Wow. Was not at all what I was expecting. Not that I'm complaining. Not disappointed at all. Well made. Crazy powerful. Made in the USA. Make sure the thing you're grinding is in the vice good and tight. It's like trying to wash a dish with a fire hose. I've attached a photo for scale. That's my old (typical sized) Chicago grinder and a standard household carpentry hammer.

I bought this to replace a weaker Craftsman that burned up on me as I was scarifying a concrete slab in prep for tile. This has good balance & power and a nice long, supple cord, and you can feel the hefty, solid quality. I expect it to serve me for a good while.

Makita should really make a 10 inch guard for this angle grinder. 10 inch blades are far more common. This angle grinder is suppose to support "rotatable gear housing every 90 degrees". I could not find out how to do this in the manual, at the Makita web site or online.

A little on the heavy side, but has done every thing I have asked of it!
