DeWalt DW680 Rabot - 600W

I bought this as my current planer's belt melted and I could not get another in a timely fashion. I have a couple of Dewalt power tools which I really like so I thought it would make sense to purchase this planer. Big mistake. No dust collection bag, the exhaust port is oblong so you cannot even fashion a hose to it. Wood filings and dust everywhere. Pretty disappointed with Dewalt. My previous planer has a dust collection bag so I will go back to that one. The planer works fine otherwise.

there are no accessories, ie chip collector or diverter. If you have to use it horizontally you better have a face shield.

If cordless isn't that important, you will like this planer. Bought mine to replace much older DW677. They are functionally identical. A cheaper DeWalt model is available, but I think the 680K is superior. You get what you pay for in these Chinese tools. Takes both carbide and steel blades. Changing process on DW680K is easier/better.

What a great tool I just finished planing a large glue lam table top, this planer is a beast, it leaves a very nice finish. it produces a lot of chips so you need to buy the chip collector fitting as well. I purchased it, however it did not arrive with the rest of my order, so I had some clean up to do, no problem though I used my stainless steel works shop shop vac witch works great. Buy both with confidence.

this planner works real well on small surface areas. I have no problems with it keeping the correct depth and will cut a long length without any problem.
