This was the 3rd Reciprocating saw I bought in as many weeks, A cheap 6amp saw which did not have the torque to cut through a 4x4 n a reasonable amount of time. A 12 AMP dewalt, cut great but horrible vibration control, there was no speed or material where it didn't feel like I was putting all my strength into keeping it from twisting my arm off. And then I bought this saw, vibration was less than even the 6amp saw, cut nearly as fast as the more powerful dewalt, cut itself was a lot cleaner, less mess (probably due to the vibration control). I'm knocking 1 star off because the blade wiggles up and down a lot more than other saws and the clamp itself is a little weaker than other models.

Purchased this for the hubby. He couldnt believe how well it works. It does weigh more than most but tears through anything you throw at it.

I have owned and used this saw, as well as 2 Milwaukee Sawzalls: the 15A Super & the next step down 13A 6520-21. This Hitachi has the best quick-change blade mechanism that is incredibly durable & super easy to use. The Milwaukees have less vibration than this Hitachi, however, I have had to order replacement parts for the blade-change mechanism on both of the Milwaukees, which renders them temporarily disabled until I repair them.
