I have a Carbon fibre with gimbal head for my wildlife setup and needed a smaller tripod for my bike rides. My previous small tripod was a Slik setup. The Slik was too unstable and the leg locks broke. The leg lock setup is similar to my carbon tripod and the best way to go. This tripod is very stable and easy to setup with the built in level. I use the Induro BH-3 head and it matches up well and fits neatly into the carry bag when attached. this bag fits very well onto my carrier on the back of the bike. Bonus! One thing I do to all my tripods is wrap a small amount of electrical tape around the feet and then one tape width up the leg. this keeps the foot from ever falling off and keeps the threads pristine in any environment. Overall very happy.
