This works pretty well on my 546 series tripod. The mid-level spreader is totally unusable on the 546 tripod, so this is your only real choice. It's not bad, not expensive, I can live with it. Can't expect much more for the money.

these are better than the ones they replaced. Great design, durable and well priced.

I wish it wasn't plastic but it gets the job done and it was a cheap solution.
